I believe it is great to look at how to best help business owners and possible business owners. Having a standart disclosure of income is a good idea so the prospective person has an idea of what can be done, knowing that not everyone will take their own business serious and be ambitious enough to make it work. It is also important to have a reasonable cancellation policy. I believe adults should be allowed to start their business as soon as they as they want without waiting. I believe free enterprise and small business owners are very important to our economy. More and more specific rules will not please everyone, certain people will always complain that something did not work for them because they didn't work it. Does each university or tecnical college have to let each prospective student know how many students begin each semester and each class and how many finish? How many graduate and in what time frame and how much it cost each student? How many got a job in their field and in what time frame and what their income is? Does each company out there post the same things for every prospective employee? I don't claim to know a lot about all businesses out there, do they need to register, get a federal ID number, be license so a basis of being legitamate can be established. I believe more rules, more paper work decreases productivity and to make a business work we need more time for productivity. Continue to warn people to check out high priced too good to be true opportunities but hold the individual responsible for their own decisions. They are adults and I don't want to have someone else telling me when I can start a business, how long I have to wait. I want the freedom to make informed decision based on what I have researched. I do not believe it is wise and worth the effort to provide disclosure of any past litagation as a lot of them are false, and vindictive just like in any other industry. The information about can be researched if a person feels the need by checking with the chamber of commerce or better business bureau. Are physicians required to provide potential patients with a list of any lawsuits or failed procedures when the patient is at more risk than starting a business? This would be very time consuming for all involved and the risk of starting with Quixtar is minimal with a low start up cost. I also believe that financial records should not be disclosed to prospects as this does not prove validity of a business. Maybe the FTC could simply have a link/website that lists legal businesses for prospects to see. Family is very important to me and many others and limited our opportunity for business growth does not help when there is so much financial disaster in the working class. Thanks for your ear.
