Dear U.S. Federal Trade Commission, I am writing in reponse to your proposal on a new Trade Regulation Rule on Business Opportunities. I commemerate you for the proposal to protect the public from themselves in choosing get rich business schemes. Unfortunately with all the information at hand, people still choose to make bad decisions. I have been an Independent Business Owner for the Quixtar/Amway business since 1989 and am very fortunate that your concerns have always been part of this business. Everything is disclosed, you are not locked in and can get you minimal investment back withing 30 days. I beleive the best approach is to continue to educate the public and heavily fine and shut down those that use schemes to portray a legitimate business. Your proposal for required references by having other IBO's use my name could jeopardise my employement. Prospects are always introduced to one another in a form of refernece, however, I controll who uses my name as a reference. Also the litigation list, earning disclosure and financial substantion is redundant since that is all avalible through Quixtar. Sincerely, Sharon Cartisano
