As a PartyLite Consultant and Leader for over 2 years, I have been able to build a very successful team of 36 Independent PartyLite Consultants who are earning valuable incomes to support their families via PartyLite's exceptional direct selling business. Personally, my PartyLite income has allowed me to leave corporate america, focus more time on my top priority (my family) and most recently purchase a NEW car...I and thousands like me are earning a good income to provide for their families as single parents and truthfully would appreciate not having any more 'hoops to jump through' to share this great opportunity with others. The regulations you are planning would make it incredibly DIFFICULT to introduce anyone to this great opportunity...many need and want to earn $ right away and the additional wait time proposed would penalize them much more than it would help them. I urge you to reconsider this proposal as you would negatively affect my income, that of my team, fellow legitimate professional direct sellers and future direct selling agents. I also would NEVER want my private information or my team's shared without my consent thru a 'reference' process. While I appreciate the FTC working to protect average consumers like me, in this case the proposal would actually be working against me impacting my personal income, my future, my family's future and that of my team. If there are 'suspicious' companies, I suggest looking into them individually rather than regulating an entire industry. And by the way, you'd never find PartyLite on the 'suspicious' list - it's an honest to goodness ethical, family oriented, legitimate, professional business with the utmost care, concern and standards for consultants and leaders as well as our Hostesses, Guests and Customers. I am VERY proud to be associated with PartyLite and therefore the Direct Selling Industry. Thank you for your reconsideration in this matter; please don't make our livlihood more difficult. Sincerely Cindy M. Potts
