This letter is concerning the pending restrictions that may placed on direct sales companies. I have been an independent consultant for over 4 years now. My experience and income opportunity with PartyLite has benefited my family in so many ways -- the most important one being that I was able to leave my full-time job and stay home with my family. I have a handcapped adult daughter and a 5 year old daughter (and a 30-year old daughter as well)! Before starting PartyLite I worked anywhere from 40 to 55 or 60 hours weekly. My youngest was in day care and my middle daugther still needs someone with her due to her handicaps. I'm sure you can imagine some of the obstacles there! For us the turning point was when my youngest was injured TWICE at daycare -- to the point of requiring medical attention. It was then I focused on my PartyLite career and left my job -- MY JOB OF 30 YEARS. Now I work about 20 hours/week and make a viabile income to contribute to my family's monthly budget. How can this be a bad thing??? I have recently promoted to Unit Leader (4/06) and am helping others to building their business. These new restrictions would unfortunately greatly hinder this process. Right now it's a comfortable, non-pressure start to becoming a PartyLite consultant; it's an easy opportunity to offer people. I know that these new restrictions with make our jobs as leaders much harder -- how many people will we loose in the process? How many people -- men and women needing the extra income will forego this incredible opportunity because of all this addition "administrative" type red-tape? Before starting my PartyLite career I did look into the other direct sales opportunities. PartyLite was by far the best. No money investment to start your business and they already do publish ACTUAL incomes of REAL consultants/leaders in our business literature. Perhaps there are some direct sales companies that are in need of monitoring but PartyLite is not one of them. Thank you! Teresa Cardisco Independent Consultant/Unit Leader
