FTC – bizop NPR Comments of an independent business owner that is glad that the FTC is willing to protect citizens from unscrupulous practices. My immediate concerns are related to a proposal requiring detailed personal financial disclosures. True some of my mentors have volunteered copies of some of their checks as they reached various benchmarks. But to have required them to disclose that information before I began my journey with them seems counter productive. This type of full disclosure seems more appropriate if I were trying to get someone to buy my business. When I approach a prospect I am seeking individuals who are trying to create their own businesses not buy mine. I look for people who are willing to set their own goals and limits and only need an environment, guidance, and support to reach their stars. I currently live in Minnesota. I have lived in Ohio, Illinois, California, Georgia, New York, Kentucky and Virginia. My direct line of sponsorship can include businesses in all of these areas. Everywhere I travel in the United States there are people that could do what I do and could become a link in my line. When I travel to any of the 80 plus other countries open to our business model I can extend another link to my line. If I have to identify ten others who are doing the same thing and decide which of them are appropriate reference models it would cripple my growth. In truth I would rather inform the new prospect about the great leadership I am connected to and how my connections will help them grow and reach the levels that the prospect has set. I do not earn large sums of money when I make a new connection. I reap large harvests only when I help others reach their goals. I look forward to the day that everyone in our industry has to follow the same FTC rules. DeWitt Green Quixtar Independent Business number
