Dear FTC Executive: re: Rule R511993 Hello.Thank you for the opportunity to submit comments; suggestions on above ruling affecting MLM industry. 1. 7 day waiting period for $24.99 dist.kit is unreasonable. Gano Excel has a 90% buy-back policy for all products within 12 months. 2. Litigation reporting: Base it on "lawsuits" that found the co. "guilty" vs. anyone who "wishes to sue" for just any reason. 3. References: 10 References is not only un- reasonable, it infringes upon "privacy rights/laws" of the references. I have over 30 years' experience in executive human resources for large corporations and we required 3 References "upon request" of a prospective employer. Suggestion: 3 References "upon request" with the "permission" of the References; but not disclosing any personal contact information which could lead to disrupting their lives and "spamming" opportunities. I had made significant income in the field of H.R. prior to MLM and had to leave corp. America to take care of my live-in 88 year old Mom. MLM income will never replace a six figure income, but does afford me the opportunity to work-from-home and make "a living" in MLM. By putting major restrictions on this industry, WITHOUT looking at the NEGATIVE IMPACT on the "little people" who need the income is only looking at "one side." Many MLM-ers earn a 2nd income, which in our economy is desperately needed and with many of us Baby Boomers ready to retire, puts an additional strain on government resources as Social Security is now "tapped" by the largest group "boomers" who are retiring. If you displace most of the MLM-ers or discourage new people from participating, you may have prior MLM-ers in the Welfare line to replace that extra $300-$1,000 month they were making in MLM. I've learned with my corporate HR experience; RULE FIRMLY but FAIRLY and you will RULE FOREVER. e.g.Many companies hired me because of my ability to drastically reduce turnover in their companies. Companies "always" blamed the "employees" for the turnover and didn't look in their own backyard. I taught them the FIRM but FAIR way to handle employess and turned the co. around from 80-90% turnover, down to 15% (below ind.standard). Keep this FIRM but FAIR Ruling in mind when you approach the new FTC standards and you will create a great WIN WIN for everyone. Look forward to your "fairness" ruling and "firm" guidelines to help all of us WIN. Thank you. Linda Chamberlain
