July 13, 2006 Dear Sir or Madam: I'm writing this letter because I feel VERY CONCERNED about the proposed Business Opp. Rule: R511993. I believe that as a result of this rule, it could prevent me from supporting my family and succeeding as a lia sophia Fashion Jewelry Zone Manager. I understand that part of the FTC's responsibilities is to protect the public form "unfair and deceptive acts or practices," yet some of the sections in the proposed rule will make it very difficult, if not impossible, for me to sell lia sophia Fashion Jewelry products. Most people don't practice "deceptive" practices...and those that do aren't in the business long. I think it's odd that all of sudden this is an issue...when people go out and buy diamonds, cars, boats, homes, groceries...etc. and don't have a "waiting" period...other than changing their mind in a three day period. Please....find other clauses that don't hinger us from doing a job with ethics, and integrity. To pursue the American Dream...let the people decide. No one is "forced" to stay in the business...or even "try" the business. Thanks for your time and wisdom....as you make a decision that will make a huge difference for many women/men who love the "honest" way to sale a great...quality product!! Sincerely, Lesley L.
