Comments:
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the proposed "Business Opportunity Rule, R511993". I have been in direct sales for over 14 years. Because of it, I have been able to support my family. My 16 year old son is diabetic and insulin dependent, and my 8 year old grandson, who also lives with me, has asthma. My Business is the only income I have to support us. I also have had the privilege of being able to help other people start their own Businesses to support themselves and their families, by personally paying for advertising for them until they were able to do so themselves. I understand and appreciate that the FTC is attempting to protect the public, but I believe that dishonest people and groups will find a way around "Business Opportunity Rule, R511993". I also believe that the honest sales representatives and companies will be the ones to suffer. I know I would not like my information given out to strangers who might use it in a negative way.(#2. List of nearest references.) I also know, from experience, that some cancellations in a company are by people who want money handed to them without doing the work to earn it. If someone cancels, it does not necessarily mean they are dissatisfied with the company or products.(#5. Cancellations and Refunds.) I strongly feel that "Business Opportunity Rule R511993", if passed, would have a devastating effect on all honest companies and their sales representatives. Sincerely, Sandra Bell
