Dear FTC: My family has been blessed over the last 8 years with our affiliation with Quixtar/Amway and the income it has provided us and we urge you to reconsider some of the proposals that would greatly hinder the way we do business. We are asking that you eliminate the 7-day waiting period because in our business our new associates can receive a full money-back guarantee which is much better than a waiting period! We also feel that your proposal in regard to providing references is not necessary. The way that Quixtar has taught us is to bring our newest folks around the others in the organization and better than written references - our newest associates get to meet the people in our business personally and can decide how they feel about others who are involved. Please eliminate the references - at least for Quixtar. We are also asking that you eliminate the requirement of providing info on all litigation - I feel this would create more problems than solutions - opening things up for all kinds of false accusations and the like. I also would like you to eliminate having written financial disclosures for each income claim - why not have one standard one that the FTC approves as we do with Quixtar? I certainly hope the FTC doesn't require us to provide our personal, financial information to our prospects because our income is a private matter - I have a job outside of my Quixtar business and I don't disclose to any of my friends or co-workers or Quixtar associates what I earn there - this requirement is going to hurt many of us in the industry more than it's going to help new people coming in. I don't believe it is necessary! Again....Quixtar is the most ethical company I've ever been affiliated with. Their leadership has taught me things life-skills and has helped me in my personal relationships as well as business. Please keep the industry uncomplicated so that it can continue to benefit my family and many more families that we plan to introduce this awesome concept to. Thank you for your time.
