I am an Independent Business Owner affiliated with the quixtar site since its inception 9-1-99. Quixtar is an order consolidation e-commerce site which supports my Independent Business. I am, as all IBO's, legally structured as a sole proprietorship. I have to submit either a 1099 and 1040 Schedule C because I am responsible as an Independent Contractor and I am subject to the tax rules and regulations as any another sole proprietorship. As a sole proprietor I have the option of incorporating my business for tax purposes. All Independent Business Owners Affiliated with Quixtar have the same opportunity. Independent Business Owners affiliated with Quixtar are held under the same legal constraints at the state and local levels as any other Independent business. Independent Business owners who engage in legitimate business practices should be afforded the same intellectual property protections as any other traditional business. Talking to other IBOs as a reference is not good business and it is engages in unfair trade practices. If one owns a small retail store, one does not have to divulge profits to ones customers in order to do business An Independent Business Owner ( IBO) should be afforded the same opportunity. If you are going to start a small brick-n- mortar retail business, you can get information from someone in the field but not about someone elses business because they are competitors. One does not go to a competitor to get accurate information. People who are looking at this business opportunity should carefully evaluate this business just as any other business. You should talk to the owner of that business. Not several owners about each others business. That business owner might want you to sign a nondisclosure agreement because of intellectual property or trade secret concerns. IBO's are afforded the same privileges. One must conduct due diligence in evaluating any business opportunity. The 95 page business compendium has all of the do’s and don’t one needs to evaluate Quixtar opportunity and it is accessible through the visitors section of the Quixtar’s public website. Alticor, the parent company of Quixtar, designs its rules to protect all Independent Business Owners affiliated with the quixtar There are Business to Consumer and Business to Business opportunities available. Many Independent Business Owners elect to "sell" only and not license other Independent Business Owners. Some sell products to other Corporations and have to respect the trade practices of other traditional small and large corporations. This opportunity allows people like myself to embark into legitimate business ownership without the tremendous financial outlays associated with traditional businesses. One can use one's job as start up capital and initial funding until the business can fund itself. This opportunity has an exellent business plan and exit strategy. A car dealership does not make the cars but they sell them. The dealership is a legitimate business in it's own right. Well an IBO’ ship does not manufacuture products but it sells them and license other to sell them. It is a legitimate business also. If it grows to the point that employee's need to be hired, then you hire them.. If you need to secure a warehouse to stock your products, you can do that also. But most do not have to stock because of the infrastructure of this e-commerce opportunity. Most elect to run their business from their home, either a small home or a mansion: It depends on the size of the business. The network of Independent Business Ownership structures' continuing education and training systems. are separate entities from Quixtar Inc. However they both work together to create a unique business opportunity that is unparalleled in the business world and serves as a model for other e-commerce, direct sales businesses and the business world in general.
