Dear Sir or Madam, I wanted to write this letter because I am worried about the proposed Business Opportunity Rule R511993. I think this ruling could have a big effect on my being an Arbonne Independent Consultant. I know that it’s the FTC’s job to protect people from bad practices, but some of the proposed rules will make it very hard for me to sell products and sponsor people into the business. I am confused and concerned about having to wait seven days to sign up a new consultant. People could possibly think that there is something wrong and having to wait could harm my ability to continue to grow my business. I think it would be time consuming to keep record of each prospect I talk to and when to call them back. I also think that the proposed rule requiring the release of information regarding lawsuits seem unfair. If Arbonne has done nothing wrong and was found not guilty in a lawsuit, I’m afraid of the possibility of how that might hinder my business. The last thing that I have concerns about is the proposed ruling about having to disclose a minimum of 10 prior Independent Consultants nearest to the prospective Consultant. I would have to go through the corporate office in California and wait for them to send me the list. I have to say that I would not feel comfortable giving out personal information about individuals to people they do not even know. I have had people ask me if I will be giving out their information and I am always glad to say no. I think with the problems of identity theft, future prospects and other buyers will be very concerned about their personal information being given out. I have been an Arbonne Consultant for more than two years. I started my business with Arbonne because I had three children, had gone through a divorce and was working two jobs and barely getting by. I saw this business as an opportunity to be home with my children, and I could create an income from home. Since staring my Arbonne business I have been able to retire from both jobs and be at home with my kids. Developing a team has been amazing and together we are making a difference for our families. I appreciate your work in protecting consumers, but I believe these proposed rulings would make it hard on network marketers like me. I truly hope that there are other ways to work out these issues. Thank you for your understanding. Sincerely, Vickie Cruz
