Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to express strong opposition to the proposed Business Opportunity Rule #R511993. I understand that the Federal Trade Commission's job is to protect the public from unfair and deceptive practices, but the Rule as proposed would make it very difficult for me to operate my business as a Shaklee Independent Distributor. Most folks are consummers of product, who sign an application. If later they wish to start a business, they only have to supply Shaklee with their Social Security number or their Tax I.D. Number. No additional fees or application is required. The Shaklee Corp. already has a 90% buy-back policy for products, including the $19.95 member kit, purchased by the distributor within the last 2-years. Shaklee is a "Golden Rule" company with outstanding business practices for the past 50 years. This Rule would mean a greater burden on the Shaklee Corporation. Truly, undeserved. I have been a Distributor for more than 20 years. I first used the products, feel in love with the products and the company. Now I depend on the extra income. I am a widow. Please do not pass this Rule. It would cause me much hardship, substantially impacting my income. I thank you for your attention. Respectfully submitted, Maria Goldstein
