Dear Federal Trade Commission Member, I am asking that you reconsider some of the requirements you are proposing in the direct sales industry. I am a fairly new Party-Lite consultant. I began my Party-Lite business initally to get free products. It is a wonderful business that also offers tons of support and Free training, lots of recognition and other perks. It is not always easy to get others to see this great business opportunity, but one of the best ways to get others to join is by getting them excited right away. If new consultants have to wait a week to join, they are often talked out of trying out the program. To require that each new consultant have 10 references from Party-Lite before they can join will take up a lot of other consultants' time. Time that is used to build our businesses and to encourage others to join our team. This would also involve giving out personal information that many of us would not feel comfortable sharing with poeple we don't know. Party-Lite is the best business opportunity I have enconutered. It costs nothing to start the business, and has tremendous opportunities to advance. I love sharing Party-Lite products and business opportunities with others. Some of your new proposals will make my business much more difficult to manage. Please reconsider. Thank you for your attention in this matter. Sincerely Merrie Durbano
