July 16, 2006 To Whom It May Concern: I Reginald Roberts, am writing this letter to voice my concerns regarding the FTC'S New Business Opportunity Rule and how this can have an impact on my family's financial future. With regards to the $500 mininmum investment requirement, the individuals that I am presenting this opportunity to for the betterment of their financial futures, are unable to come up with this large sum of money. They are your everyday, average minimum wage earners, who are trying desperately and legitimately to improve their economic station in life. The other area of concen is that of having to provide the Nearest References; with the ever increasing risks of Identity Theft, a person who is very skilled in obtaining private and personal information would have a greater chance of access to these indivduals, than what is the current situation, which is on a need to know basis. The area of the Seven Day Waiting Period; this is of even greater concern, why? because it is like telling an individual that their first week's pay on the job belongs to the company for giving them an opportunity to work and feed their families.Everyone knows that the first few days of any new business is crucial to its success. The last area The Earnings Claim; In this fast pace driven society, single parent homes, the rising cost of living, just the everyday living concerns is very difficult to juggle, even when there is two parents. Then being asked to add an additional responsibilty to their existing long list, this would not only be an unkind, but also an uneccessary burden. I hope that your office will take my concerns into consideration, for I am not a Politician, or a Highly Educated individual, just one who makes up the larger majority of the populace. One who tries very hard to live by the Quote "There is More Happiness In Giving, and Sharing, Than There Is In Receiving and Taking" Please don't apply the" Rule of School" if one or two students misbehaves, then the whole class is punished, for their choosing to do the wrong thing. My last plea is this, put yourself, or a family member of yours in our shoes. Wouldn't you want them to have a fighting chance to be able to live The American Dream? Whatever Their Dream might be? Sincerely, Reginald Roberts
