Comments:
I am exited to hear that you are interested in more closely regulating non-traditional businesses. I am, however, concerned by some of the details. I believe that every individual who is interested in pursuing a business should be well informed about the venture that they are undertaking. I'm not sure that it is anyones responsibility to prevent people from making a quick uninformed decision although I certainly do not want to be associated with people who would jump into something without knowing both the pros and the cons. I am concerned that mandating a 7 day waiting period could cause a problem simply because I'm not sure how you could enforce it. Some people want to start as soon as they have made an informed decision and making them wait a week could change the dynamics and momenteum of starting a new business. Concern #2 is the past litigation clause. I understand that this information as originally presented would include any lawsuit that has been filed and would therefore include many frivilous claims. How many lawsuits have been filed in the past 1 year alone? Concern #3 is about the local involvement disclosures. Before I start any individual in my business I introduce a prospect to local leaders and people who are successfully doing what I do. I do not think that requiring a local list with names, addresses and phone numbers would be wise in that I would not want people who I do not know calling me fishing for information. I do hope that my comments have been helpful. Sincerely, Kristie Alexander
