Comments:

My greatest concern with this new FTC proposal is the dissemination of private information of the individuals within my organization and others who have considered joining to strangers investigating my business opportunity. Personal privacy is something we all guard so carefully, especially while doing business in the ever shrinking internet environment. This new FTC proposal effectively eliminates any and all safeguards we may have established for ourselves and our business associates. The FTC ruling also adds an almost insurmountable record keeping obstacle for those of us working honestly in direct marketing. Maintaining the records necessary to comply will change my part-time business into a full-time job and seriously impact any profits available to me. I began my business so I could be home with my children, especially to be available 24 hours a day for my son with Aspergers syndrome. I love being here with and for them. My business allows me the luxury of volunteering in their schools weekly, taking my son to his many appointments and just being a full-time caregiver. It has also allowed my husband and me to meet our son’s many needs without government help. This ill advised FTC ruling will put me and so many others like me out of business. It is for these reasons and others that I strongly oppose this new proposed ruling.
