I have been in the direct sales organization for about 6 months, working with XanGo LLC. I am very proud of the product and company I represent. As a matter of fact, I strongly urge all of you to go to www.Drink-Health.com and find our more about XanGo. It is amazing. This product has helped me be able to live with my illness of Fibromyalgia, that is how I became involved in this business. The direct sales organization helps supplement my family’s income. It is not easy. I have to work hard. This is certainly not a get rich quick opportunity, XanGo LLC trained me to never sell it as such, But this is an opportunity for my husband and myself to build a business for ourselves, and to not have to live paycheck to paycheck for the rest of our lives. Our business is growing, because we invest a lot of work into it. This business requires training, dedication, persistence and old fashioned hard work. When a person has those qualities and applies them, their abilities will improve. Personal growth (ie, confidence, public speaking, communication skills) is an area I’ve seen skyrocket in myself and others who otherwise may never have realized our potential. Unfortunately in direct sales, as in every other occupation or business model that you might mention, there are companies that are fraudulent and dishonest. I’m grateful that you guys are protecting us all. My concern is that in your attempt to expose fraudulent companies you in inadvertently hurt badly the numerous legitimate, above-board companies that provide work opportunities and valuable goods and services. Specifically I refer to “Business Opportunity Rule R511993”. I understand this rule, if enacted, would require a seven day waiting period before clients can enroll. Since I often meet people on the go, this would be a huge obstacle to a successful closing. It would require me to spend the bulk of my time in record keeping, follow up, administration, etc……I enjoy helping people do this business in their spare time while keeping their full time job. I encourage them to begin by supplementing their correct income and watching their business grow over time to match and even surpass their correct employment income. This is a safe way for people to ease into their own business. If they are shackled with a seven day waiting period and all the extra record keeping involved, it will be impossible for them to see any success in the limited time they have to invest. Also, I understand that we would be required to provide the 10 nearest sales people. I speak to people all over the country and in other countries. I have no way of knowing who the nearest sales reps are. This would be completely impractical. With all the identification theft that occurs, people will not want their location and affiliations exposed to anyone unless “they” chose to do it themselves. I urge you to consider the privacy and safety issues involved in this proposal. I believe in what you’re trying to accomplish. But I believe it can and should be done in a way that would only punish those companies and individuals who deserve to be punished. I work with many individuals who are challenged physically and circumstantially. They have found meaning and purpose and joy in living by having the opportunity to make a real difference in their family’s lives. They are so proud of their honest, hard-won accomplishments. Please don’t inadvertently damage these good people’s livelihood. Respectfully, Melissa Ayers
