I strongly disagree with the proposed changes to the business opportunity rule. Once again, the legitimate companies opportunities are paying the price for scams and thieves. Although I agree that there needs to be protections in place, these proposed changes will be hurting millions of hard working people trying to put a few extra dollars in their pockets. How many people today can make it on a single income? Skyrocketing energy and health care costs are what led me to this industry. The chance to work part time, and earn more than part time wages. How far does $ 7.00 an hour go? My personal opinion is leave things the way that they are. If you want to make a difference, educate people on the pitfalls of scams. Teach them what to look for and more importantly what to avoid if they wish to invest their time and money in a business opportunity. A question for you---How many scams have been prosecuted and convicted of any crime? Have they reimbursed the people that they wronged? I have not heard of any. Why do the legitimate companies continually pay the price by adding more rules and regulations? The direct selling industry and network marketing industry have gotten a bad reputation. Yet they help millions of people every year earn the extra money that people need to survive. It's true that some these distributors are millionaires, but they have worked very hard for what they have earned. The concept that people don't understand is that in order to become a millionaire, you have to help enough people along the way to get what they need. These proposed changes will stifle the hopes and dreams of hard working americans everywhere. Momentum is key, when people are excited they take action. Action is what gets things done, no matter what business you are in. As I said earlier, I STRONGLY DISAGREE with these proposed changes.
