Re: Business Opportunity rule, R511993. I have been in Network Marketing for over 23 years and found it to be one of the greatest business opportunities we have to offer to all individuals for a chance to be successful. I am a General Contractor by trade building High end homes with great risk financially to my family. Xango LLC has been a god send to myself and the people I have shared this with. I have always been comfortable talking to small groups of people, but could never have imagined myself talking to hundreds of people, and actually helping them in the process. I would like to address a couple of issues that I see with your proposal R511993. I do first and foremost appreciate the role that the FTC plays in business and would not want that safety net to go away. The seven day waiting period, I feel, would cause unnecessary confusion to potential members. At a $35 fee, no one is at risk. $500 business threshold, groups a $35 membership with a, say, $4000 membership. Comparing apples to oranges. References: I do not have a clue how I would obtain such information in the first place, secondly, the privacy issues are numerous, thirdly, it's simply not fair. Those 10 people could never had put any effort int the business, or never tried the product and therefore have a negative attitude with no justified reasons. Litigation reporting: Again, random lawsuits with no clarification means nothing, besides, all of that is public records, & if they are interested, they can source it. Earning claims: Unless they are providing IRS info, who would know if they are being honest. We claim nothing to people. I simply say that I'm happy with how I am doing. I appreciate your efforts in this matter, however as a business Man, & 23 years in MLM's it is my feeling that these particular items could & would effect this wonderful industry negatively. Sincerely, John Ramsay
