To whom it may concern, I have only been an IBO for just over 10 months now, so I don't claim to have a huge perspective about these proposals. A few concerns I have: First, if our prospects are required a seven day waiting period to register, then, I feel, much of our momentum will be hindered. Most people only stay excited about 48 hours after embarking on something new. Hence, if we allow the excitement to subside, possibly we've just set them up to fail. This defeats the purpose, because through the new persons enthusiasm, we can quickly build a community of like-minded enthusiastic "team" builders. The goal is to register someone the new person can work with as soon as possible. This does two things for the success of our organization. First of all, it creates belief that our system works. Secondly, it creates a bond with someone that our new IBO knows personally, and with common goals, can flourish into a successful business relationship. My second concern is about providing references. I'm not to keen on lending my families phone number, address, etc., out for anyone(strangers) to come calling. I get more calls than I want now from people wanting something. And, the safety of my family is a priority. Conversely, if we as IBO's have to produce a reference list, specifically a local reference list, this will also hinder the expansion of our business. I don't know how many different organizations all operate under the Quixtar umbrella of Independent Business Ownership, but the TEAM, that I'm aware of, is currently only in about 40 states. My final concern is the disclosure of personal financial records to prospects. A standardized income disclosure from Quixtar stating how much income can be achieved at each level of acheivement I can agree with. However, if we will be required to disclose personal income information I can't agree with. Let me explain why. If I voluntarily told someone I made $40,000 annually that really wouldn't matter to whom I told. Because, we're not employed to do the same job 99.9% of the time. Now, because our business model compensation plan is based on performance from month to month, how can we accuratey and morally allow a prospect to judge what he/she can or can not do with their own business based on mine. We all build our businesses at different paces. And this is part of the beauty of it, we get out of it what we put in to it. I've never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed. But, thank you for taking the time to read through my concerns about the proposed FTC changes. I may not have accurately expressed myself clearly to the proposals I responded to, but may I say this: the free enterprise system this country was founded upon is not perfect, but, it is the best system in the world. Sincerely, Tracy Dodge
