As a Longaberger Home Consultant since December 11, 1982, and one who promoted to the highest level of management within the company, I am concerned about aspects of the proposal which I feel will actively work against direct sales. My business allowed me to raise my children while contributing to the family's income. Because of my income and the ability to work from home, we were able to raise two outstanding citizens. Our daughters are well educated, independent, and contributing members of society. They were able to complete their educations without loans because of my direct sales income. My business also allowed me to be a leader in my Church. I was a very timid person when I first joined Longaberger. Direct sales gave me skills that I do not believe I would have acquired elsewhere. I am especially concerned with the impact of the seven day waiting period and providing the names of 10 nearest Consultants. I see this as 1) an invasion of privacy for direct sellers who might not be interested in sponsoring others; 2) impractical as we do not have territories so others in my immediate area are not in my group (and, therefore, I do not have their contact information); 3) an administrative hardship for my company to provide such data; and 4) an infringement to the relationships we build with our customers that cause them to be interested in following us into our direct sales company. Thank you for allowing me to express my opinion in this matter. Sincerely, Lori Hoipkemeier Independent Longaberger National Sales Leader
