As a successful IBO affiliated with the Quixtar business opportunity, my wife Janelle and I felt compelled to send this letter in reponse to the proposed changes being considered by the FTC related to home based businesses. First, allow me to say that Quixtar is a first class company from top to bottom which fully meets the needs of all its affiliates and IBO's. Through our hard work and comittment, this company has allowed us to create income which has surpassed that of our full-time employment. We always make sure that all people who are looking at joining our business team have all the facts and have done their du dilligence and we feel very strongly that some of the proposals the FTC has laid out unfairly punish credible opportunity like ours by linking us with other scams and illegitimate opportunities out there. For example, though many people take more than this, we don't feel that a professional should be forced to take 7 days to evaluate this business with all the credibility available to them. The credibility of our business is obvious in the hundreds of partner affiliates such as Circuit City who have already evaluated the profitability and credibility of our business. Plus, there truly is no financial risk associated with the Quixtar business opportunity because the offer a 180 day guarantee which offers people their money back if they're not satisfied with the opportunity. Also the proposed requirement that someone considering joining our team must be able to call 10 contacts or references is just unacceptable for the following reasons: no one wants to receive unsolicited calls from people they don't know, each IBO builds their business differently and that has no bearing on how that new person may build their business, and the truth is that some people want something for nothing and have expected to make money in this business without doing the work; I'd hate to have a new prospective IBO get bad information or become demotivated by someone who has simply failed to do the work necessary. Our plan is a 2-5 year plan, not a 2-5 month plan and people should be willing to make a decision based upon the work they're willing to do, not what someone else wasn't. It is for these reasons that we feel the proposed FTC regulations will hurt free enterprise in this country. Sincerely, Jordan and Janelle Keller
