Comments:
My husband and I have been Independent Business Owners (IBO's) with Quixtar or it's affiliates for 11 years now. We have reached a level of income that supplements our personal home income, and allows me to stay at home with our 3 special needs children. We anticipate reaching a higher achievement level within the next 4 months. This level will provide the necessary income to take our twin sons, who have severe Autism, off of state assistance for good. The Quixtar business has allowed this handicapped family to build a business within our own time frame and at a time of day that does not hinder our sons' and daughter's development; at night when they have gone to bed. With this great flexibility, we are able to find the same success that our typical-family counterparts might enjoy. Without this business opportunity, and with no alternatives for child care (we have no options available to us for less than $2500 per month), our family would be in financial ruin. Beyond that, the sheer networking advantages of this business have allowed our family to find specialized doctors, financial advisers, and other special needs families to draw upon for other than business goals. The personal development programs offered through our particular business group have developed us into more competent employees, business owners, spouses, and parents. We are never far from a resource to improve our personal lives with this business. When Joe and I registered, we received FTC approved literature, catalog information, and resources to answer any further questions we might have. We extend the same courtesy to all IBO's that we register, and have never found anyone to feel that the information provided is inadequate. New registrants are given a 'plan of action' by us, identifying the work required to accomplish the goals they have told us are important to them. They receive detailed explanation of where their approximately $150 goes when they register, and the agreements and money-back guarantees on products are explained in full. Regarding: '7-Day Waiting period -This rule would add an extra step to the process we use to sponsor, requiring us to fly or drive back to a visited city to perform an additional follow-up/registration. With a limited budget, this rule would eliminate our distance registrations. The rule would not give interested parties any more information than we already give them during our inital meeting and follow up, and we already advise interested participants to research, right then and there, any website that they might find helpful. List of Referrals Proposal -This rule is flawed in several ways. For our family, we would not allow a local IBO to use our addresses to give to people whom we have not met and prescreened ourselves. Giving out personal information such as this, without our knowledge or approval, violates our privacy as a family. In addition, IBO's in remote areas and new IBO's may not be able to generate a required 'list'. They will have to give out a list of people they do not know, forcing them to endorse people that they couldn't have any confidence in, thereby exposing them to being judged based upon the actions of others. This would also cheat the original IBO out of far too many prospects; as many will sign with one of the 'references'. You don't require hair salons to give clients names and phone numbers of other salons in the area! Don't do this to families trying to conduct business. Litigation list - This proposal is far too removed and vague to be fair to an IBO. Being forced to disclose a supplier caught in litigation inapprpriately reflects upon our own business ethics. Financial Substantiation - To have to bring forth documentation required by this rule to prove our Quixtar income violates our privacy as a family, again. Quixtar IBO's would become prey to every identity thief and 'investment rep' in the area. Thank you for your consideration. Jaye Panico
