RE: Business Opportunity Rule, R511993 My wife & I are writing this letter because we’re concerned about the proposed Business Opportunity Rule R511993. We believe that in its presented form, it could prevent us from continuing to succeed in our small business. We've been Ind. Dist. for a nutritional company called Xango for 3 years. We love the nutritional juice because it helped us feel so much better. We’ve worked to create a small bus. for ourselves. Its been hard work but thats ok because we'd have to work hard at whatever we did to make a living. It's our belief that small bus. owners are what built this country & what keeps it thriving. Would you agree? We’re concerned that this proposed change would destroy thousands of small businesses. If you feel you're trying to protect us - your not. In fact you're hurting us. Whoever came up with these ideas didn't look at it from Americas bus. owners' point of view - not to mention the international ones that'll be affected in a negative way. Some of the sections in the proposed rule would make it hard or almost impossible for us to sell our product or build our business. This 7 day waiting period would give the public the idea that there’s something shady with us or our business & that would cast us in a bad light. We're professional people who value our reputation & our standing in the community & feel we deserve to be treated accordingly. We also think this waiting period is unnecessary, because our company, Xango, already has a 100% buyback policy. Wouldn’t it be smarter to QUALIFY the companies rather than put the small bus. owners risk? Americans don’t have to have a 7 day waiting period to purchase expensive items like cars, homes or even TV’s, so why should they have to be treated like children and wait 7 days before they can make a decision to spend $35.00 for a distributor enrollment in a company or buy some product if they wish to? That's making us as bus. owners look like shysters that the public has to be afraid of when in reality we are that public. We are decent, hard working, legitimate, tax paying citizens, not criminals. Sams club has a membership fee. what about them? Under this waiting period requirement, we would also need to keep very detailed records when we first speak to a prospect and would then have to send in reports to our company. Heaven knows we’ve done enough paperwork on our small bus. already for the government. Finally, the proposed rule requires the disclosure of a minimum of 10 prior purchasers nearest to the prospective purchaser. We're happy to provide references, but this is truly frightening. We have a health product and we should'nt have to tell strangers the names of anyone else who is taking it. Does CVS have to give customers the names of 10 people close to them that are taking the drug their customer is buying? No! Would you want them to? No! There would be a huge public outcry if they tried that. Well, neither should we. We would’ve resented it if the people who introduced Xango to us had given our name & info out to people we didn’t know. We wouldn't have joined the company if that had been the case, and therein lies the problem for us as dist. Really, giving out people’s names like that that should be against the law. That doesn’t even make common sense. Also, in this day of identity theft, we can’t imagine giving out the personal info of individuals to strangers. Would you want your info given to hundreds of strangers? Absolutely NOT! Imagine giving out someone’s personal info to the wrong person & making them more vulnerable to dishonest people. Where does privacy come in? Who are the people that are going to have to regulate all this and police it? It’s unatainable from all directions. I don't understand who is pushing this to go through & what they could gain. Maybe their intentions are good – but I doubt it. Please stop them & help us as citizens & bus. people to go about our bus. & be treated w/respect.
