We are Nick and Diane Helman from Chambersburg, PA. We have been Quixtar IBOs for almost three years and will be starting Platinum qualification in two months. We are writing to respond to your proposed new regulations for direct selling. Quixtar has been a first-class corporation and our business team always gives people every opportunity for questions and to give them all the credibility and information they need to make an informed decision about the business model. There are accurate sources all over the Web that also provide excellent information, including credibility concerning our partner affiliates for them to do extensive due diligence. It would be unfortuate to link our business to the fraudulent and dishonest businesses operated by individuals of lesser integrity. Persons of discernment and integrity should be able to evaluate this business without the specific time frame of seven days, especially because the Quixtar corporation offers a 6-month, 100% money-back guarantee and minimum startup costs. This is why people get excited about our model, because they not only get all the info up front and honest, but they also have 6 months to try it out for themselves without risk. In addition, the proposal to allow potential new IBOs to call 10 contacts in the area before getting started is not beneficial for several reasons: 1) existing business owners such as myself do not wish to have random people calling them and giving out our personal contact information, as a solicitor might. My wife and I would prefer not to have such calls made to our home. 2) Secondly, different people build this business model with differing levels of work ethic, integrity, pace, and attitude. Unfortunately, some people who don't do the work expect results. Since this is not a get-rich-quick scheme, some people unwilling to do the work place the blame on others for their own laziness. It is not fair for new persons to be unable to assess the credibility of the source from which they obtain reference. I would also prefer their research be done with individuals whom I can guarantee will speak professionally, without vulgar language or racial slurs, and will treat that person with respect and honesty. Nothing in life comes for free, and I am glad this business requires work for a $150K income in a 2-5 year plan, not a 2-5 day or week plan. While I understand your goal, I feel this proposal to be unfair all the way around. Thank you for your efforts to eliminate damaging scams, frauds, and pyramids. We applaud those efforts! However, some of your propositions will actually hurt the real businesses that enhance free enterprise in this country. Thank you for your time.
