Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008To the Commissioners,I agree that the problem of unsolicited bulk email should be controlled. However, the idea of a proposed suppression lists for merchants to maintain must in deed be out of the question..The costs and the problems it would cause for a self-employed person like me is unbeliever able. It could put me out of business. I only earn an average wage from the net but it is enough to support myself and 3 children. I have learning difficulties and because of this my schooling suffered and I was limited to the jobs I could do. My family suffered because of a low income and we were always in debt. I do not make a lot of money on the net but I make enough to keep my family out of debt and to buy necessaries. I also do a regular job part time this all helps. I could not do two part time regular jobs or a full time regular job because of having to get my children to school and having to be there for them after school. There are lots of people like me running a business on the net but what you are proposing will damage my business and condemn me to being in debt and cause my family to be in poverty Suppression lists could cause damage to consumers, because of the problem of properly knowing their intent when they unsubscribe from a list.Suppression lists could be obtained by spammers, which would lead to more spam instead of less. When passing this bill please take into account the many little persons like me who would be put out of business and consider what greater problems could be cause by spammers when introducing suppression lists No one likes spamming but remember the majority of the internet business world do not spam. Spammers are a small minority I really believe that the ones who do all the shouting about spam are not the joe public but the big companies trying to eliminate their competition. And this will eliminate the little people like me so that the big companies can rule the net.I ask you to please consider the above points when making your decision on suppression lists Respectfully,John MarshallUnited kingdom ( I feel I have a right to a say in this matter because it affects my livelihood.)
