Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008To the Commissioners,I appreciate your efforts to curb the problem of unsolicited bulk email. However, my deep concern is about the proposed requirement for merchants to maintain Suppression Lists.I believe the proposed requirement will do more harm than improve the system. I also believe, in a way, it is unconstitutional because it violates the rights of the people. As a democratic country, we exercise freedom of speech, expression and opinion. How about freedom of the press? I strongly oppose the said ruling as it will surely kill the industry, and millions or even billions of people will surely suffer, and I will be one of them, should it be implemented. Computer/Internet is universal and most people of the world depend on it in almost everything, whether it is for good or even sometimes for bad usage. It will always depend on the character of a man/woman, just like putting a knife in his/her hand which can be used to prepare things for cooking, or at worst, stab someone. I think we have more than enough laws to cope on such cases. In light of certain problems, which the CAN-SPAM Act may create should it be approved, I beseech you therefore to reconsider its implementation.I thank you in advance for hearing the voice of the millions or even billions of people out there whose business and everyday life depend on the internet. By scrapping the CAN-SPAM Act, you can be sure of making our world a happy place to live in.I salute you. May God bless you all!Respectfully yours,Eduardo Trono, British Columbia, CanadaEmail: *REDACTED PERSONAL INFORMATION*
