Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008To the Commissioners,SPAM has to go! We as business people online totallyhate what it is doing to our online communities.I personally believe all efforts, should be to treatspammers, who are known to repeat their activities, knowing the penalties, as one would treat a Drug Dealer. The best way to beat them is to educate the General Public.People should NOT open any email, they cannot immediately recognise, as coming from someone they know, or trust.I am, however very concerned about the proposed requirement for merchants to maintain ?suppression lists?.There are so many problems and costs associated withthis idea, and so much damage done to consumers andbusinesses alike. My specific concern is for harm to publishers who require permission from the consumer prior to adding them to any list, the ?way of Business Life on the net?.These ?suppression lists? could easily end up in the Spammers? possession, leading to much more INCREASED SPAM. We need to educate People.I was very, very concerned at the potential problems which a ruling like this could incite, and implore you in the strongestpossible ways to rethink the use of ?suppression lists?.We need to educate People.Yours Very Sincerely,Gerry ScullyHappidayz Nursery Rotherham, South Yorkshire*REDACTED PERSONAL INFORMATION*
