I will NEVER sign up for a "do-not-call" registry. Spammers have shown that they are criminals, and I suspect that such a list would immediately fall into their hands. The CAN-SPAN Act is flawed. It actually allows spamming. Until the United States goes to "confirmed opt-in only", as most European countries are doing, with hefty fines and jail time for violations, we will continue to be plagued by criminal spammers. Spammers are increasingly partnering with virus authors and infecting consumer's machines in order to "zombie" them to send spam. This practice needs to be addressed ASAP. These spammers/crackers need to be hunted down, extradited if necessary and sent to jail.
