Implementation of a National Do Not E-Mail Registry - This is very badly needed. I would sign up in a heartbeat if it were available now. The effectiveness and enforcement of the CAN-SPAM Act - I see no reduction in the amount of spam I am receiving since the act went into effect. If anything, the amount of spam I am receiving is larger. In one 10-day period in March 2004, my Internet Service provider caught 243 pieces of spam with the filters it uses. At least 5 to 10 pieces of spam make it past the filters my ISP uses each day, and into my e-mail cue. I have tried opting out using the 'opt out' links. It doesn't work. They just sell my name to another list, and I end up just getting more spam. PLEASE, add some enforcement to this act that has real consequences to it (i.e., very large fines/jail time; allowing an ISP to block all messages from another ISP that is being used to send spam). Right now, I am dread opening my e-mail at night, because of the heavy barrage of spam that I am receiving.
