As the one who is repsonsible for marketing our product (plastic bottles) I have established and found that providing our customers with timely information about those items via email has been a god send. Our customers appreciate the data we send as it allows them to do their intended job (sell and make a living) much easier. I fear that very much unlike the Do Not Call Registry, this would be a knee-jerk reaction of our customers who opted for that program and would jump on this as well, since it is convenient to do so. The two systems could not be further different if they tried. The phone call at one's home (and even business) is a true interruption of their lives and what they are doing. The email (much like the mail) can be viewed as the person's own time and dismissed or read at their choice. While email messages may be overwhelming, much like mail and much like life itself, we take and observe the messages that have a meaning on our lives and dismiss the rest. While the only way to control a phone from ringing is to opt for a Do Not Call registry, with email we have choices-to dismiss without viewing or read. The spammers will not be stopped with this law. It will only effect those who are legitimately and with the blessings of their customers from doing business. Every day I receive multiple virus messages, vitamins & pill messages, Nigeria people who want to do business with me and more garbage. This law will not stop them. As a matter of fact, this may be the only data that will be coming through. You folks have a great media voice, don't kill it with this law. Don't have a Do Not Email law put into effect. Thank you.
