The Do Not e-mail registry is a complete waste of time and money. How can foreign companies be forced to comply with the list. Many companies work hard to make their spam get by filters and other blocking systems. The no e-mail list would most likely be used as a source of addresses for foreign companies to use for their mailings. Instead there should be a national opt - in list for those who want to recieve the e-mail. There should also be regulations requiring list mailers to meet certain regulations on how a person subscribes to the list. A opt - in system where it is verified the person wants the e-mail (double opt-in) seems to be the best way.
