I use the sale of products from a few affiliate programs to supplament my retirement income. If I have to invest large amounts to comply with the search requirements of a "do not email" list, I will have to stop using the internet in this way. As I see it the requirement to check a list, unless the list itself is automated, will eliminate the "small buisiness" and leave us with only the highly capitalized and highly unethical to do buisness on the internet. The personal nature of the internet is one of its biggest strengths and along with that freedom comes the price of the user having to use some of their own discretion and initiative. Government and regulations cannot protect the population and most frequently end up oppressing the population. Go slow and easy on this complex issue. The Internet can lead to world wide freedom if we don't over regulate it! Thanks for considering my point of view. James D. Davies *REDACTED PERSONAL INFORMATION*
