Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008 To the Commissioners, Please reconsider the use of "suppression lists" with the new Can the Spam law. Such a policy will only hurt legitimate, law abiding, online businesses. It will potentially destroy internet marketing as we know it. These "suppression lists" would be oppressively costly to implement and harm consumers. Lastly, criminals by definition do not follow the law. Spammers will simply ignore "suppression lists". Thus, there may not be a decrease in spam. I was quite surprised at the potential problems this ruling could involve, and urge you in the strongest possible terms to reconsider its implementation in light of these problems, Respectfully, Lindley Pontiflet Jr. Gainesville Florida
