Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008 To the Commissioners, I applaud your efforts to curb the problem of unsolicited bulk email. However, I am concerned about changes to the act that would restrict or interfere with the ability of lawful and respectful marketers' to reach prospective targeted consumers. Email offers by legitimate business directed to prospective customers is only slightly different than advertisers who send unsolicited but targeted snail mail via the post office based on zip code demographics. It is no different than local businesses who pay students to deliver advertising door-to-door in a neighborhood. It is the unlawful and deceptive practices of a small but invasive few who are interefering with the ability of true entrepreneurs to legitimately advertise and promote their businesses. My on-line business utilizes unsolicited email, but all of my business practices are in compliance with the Act as it is written. Please spend your resources stopping the abusers not penalizing the legitimate small business owners. Respectfully, Michelle Henderson www.EmpressGallery.com
