The implementation of a National Do Not Email Registry. I believe this is a disaster waiting to happen. I've been on the Internet for seven years. I currently maintain 20 mailing lists. My subscribers are all opt-in and every mailing has it's own "unsubscribe" link. Those that want to be removed, use that link and I remove them. Every newsletter and ezine publisher that I know of on the web follows these same actions. A National Do Not Email Registry will take away the rights of each individual to pick and choose who they want to receive email from. Right now the use of email filters by every email server, ISP and webhosts is causing my subscribers not to receive the mail they want! The CAN-SPAM Act has done nothing but make matters WORSE. Don't compound the problem by making a "Do Not Email Registry"!!!! I currently have over 900 subscribers. If you did a survey and asked them, they'd tell you to but-out, plain and simple. They are angry because they can't get the mailings that they've asked to receive. All us good-guys/gals have been lumped in with the spammers and IT'S NOT FAIR!!! The more involved you guys get the worse it becomes too. You're closing down legitimate businesses along with simple newsletter publishers. The bad guys are still out there and still pushing the spam. :-( Feel free to subscribe to one of my mailings and see what a REAL ezine is all about!! And yes, it contains links to commercial websites, but that's NOT the main reason for the mail!! www.craftelady.com/craftelady_mailings.html
