My name is Doyce Powell. I am a small merchant in Dallas, Ga. I depend on my email list that my customers signup for through local request forms. I am for regulations of spam operators. Merchants like me could go out of business. I have a notice in all my emails proceedures to discontinue if any reader so chooses. I think this is enough. If they signup for it, please do not penalize me for sending it, or go through the hard work of building it every few days. I will have to hire a full time person just to manage my email list just to apply to the regulations you are implementing. It will end up costing me money. My customers are mine to send to keep them informed. If they have to re-signup every few days they will forget I am in business. I think it would be foolish to have to signup every few days for any email I wanted to recieve from each company. If I was suscribing to a magazine, or member of an organization of a club, listener of a certain radio station, I would want to sign up for their email once, and discontinue as I choose. This regulation puts a burden on the consumer as well as the business owner. Lets make it hard for the spammers, not e-commerse. I have several customers who email 500 or more of their customers each month on specials they offer. They have as much right to send the offers as commercial enterprise has the right to send mail through the regular US MAIL. The internet has become a great tool for small business, please dont take tool away. Thanks, Doyce Powell Phone *REDACTED PERSONAL INFORMATION*
