Dear Commissioners, I think it is great that there will soon be a way to differentiate spam from the commercial relationships I have with several list owners. However, I worry that my inclusion on the Do Not Email list would force an end to these relationships. There are several ezines and electronic newsletters that I rely on for information and if I join the DNE list to curtail any spam problem, I am afraid those publishers would be forced to drop me from their lists. Also, I am a professional and I myself rely on my ability to contact members of the community via electronic media. I feel these relationships add value to the subscribers who opted to receive this correspondence. I give my subscribers every opportunity to opt out, as well. In this way, I am clearly considered an asset by these subscribers and not a spammer, whether or not my message contains a commercial incentive. I am fully aware of the current spam problem and I think it is great that you are addressing such a far-reaching concern. However, I ask you to please invest serious consideration for the legitimate publishers and businesses that rely on this form of communication to survive and add great value to their members. With warmth and respect, Morris Pa, USA
