Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008 To the Commissioners, Concerning this act, I am all for penalizing spammers(unsolicited bulk email senders), however I feal the interpretation and subsequent implementation of this law could very much penalize legitamite businesses who are trying to send emails responsibly. When someone opts out of a list, it should be just that and not not the opting out of a brand name and thus every other possible list linking that brand name with the opt out person. For example, the average responsible affiliate would have a very hard time analyzing all the possible suppresion lists involved for every product he promotes in his opt in newsletter.
