I would like to support the comments which were submitted by David Wright for the Ann Arbor Ecology Center. Our local electricity provider, Detroit Edison of DTE, has a program called 'Green Energy'. According to its advertising, the program allows consumers to buy renewable energy. Detroit Edison does not buy or generate any renewable energy. It only buys renewable energy certificates. I believe that this practice is fraudulent and should be prohibited by law and FEC regulations.
