As a private citizen engaged in efforts to remove content that is in violation of COPPA, I am frustrated with the lack of a mandatory time frame for action by a company with regard to notification of user generated content. I will not name the company / site I am actively "policing" but I will say that I find time frames of 7-14 days unacceptable from the notification by me to the removal of the content. I think a maximum of 96 hours is appropriate. This allows for weekends which may include recognized holidays or other "three day weekends". I think children are the our greatest resource and we should make an extra effort to ensure a safe and secure future for them online.
