Submission Text
I have been the hit with cramming too many times to count over the years and I get the same lame response from at&t every time I try to get them to remove the charges. They tell me I must contact the company who they are trying to collect for. This is absurd, at&t put it on my bill they should be able to remove it an do a charge-back to the third-party company. I have asked them to block all future third party charges and they tell me they "by law" cannot. If that law (regulation) really exists it should be abolished.
My first preference would be for the FTC to ban all third-party billing. If you won't do that the how about allowing consumers to opt-out of third party billing?
With all the options available to consumers today to pay for goods and/or services, allowing the tel-com companies to do third-party billing is no longer (if it ever was) necessary.
