As a consumer and someone whose career centers on credit, I am much less concerned about freezing my credit than I am about the apparent disregard of privacy that allows CRA's to sell my personal information to the highest bidding lead generation companies as trigger leads. My credit and privacy are of utmost importance to me. I believe it it much better to monitor one's own credit regularly in order to avoid theft and fraud, and also have access to education that makes this a realistic task for the American consumer. Education about credit and managing money has been lax in the US school system, and in American homes, since the dawn of the almighty credit card. THIS is what I would prefer the FTC focus on.
