In my opinion, credit scores are simply manufactured numbers that inappropriately affect the lives of many people. I see no reason why I should pay a consumer reporting agency for it. It's ridiculous that consumers have to pay for an arbitrary number based on information consumers are powerless to defend against. Many of us have had our lives devastated by credit information that is completely invalid and/or overblown. These scores are used by companies that simply aren't able to decide for themselves if a customer is "worthy" enough for a loan. If a lender has to use this ridiculous score in place of an educated decision, to hell with them. I can go elsewhere and keep my "reasonable" fee in my wallet.
