A credit report is like a medical or dental record, and as such, all information contained therein should be provided to the individual being reported on, for free, and as frequently as requested by the individual. The credit score, being the most influential information in the credit report, should be provided, free, to the citizen, whenever a request is made. The fact that it has taken so long for the U.S. government to even get to the point of instituting a 'Fair Credit Reporting Act' that requires the three federal credit reporting agencies to release ONE report per year for free to the individual being reported on, indicates the outright failure, inadequacy, and injustice of the system. The regulations and enforcement of regulations placed on corporations requesting the exact same information is lax. Which leaves the question: what are we, the citizens of America, paying for? Our own financial imprisonment? Asking us to comment on how much we should pay to receive our credit score is child psychology, and I am offended and embarrassed that we have gotten to this point. I do NOT believe it is right for a citizen to pay to receive what is, essentially, a test score on one's financial aptitude. What we really have here is a conflict between capitalism and democracy. I think most of our country's citizens support an America guided by the principles of democracy over those of capitalism. Having to constantly fight for these principles to be upheld is in complete opposition to the 'American Dream'. The sooner our government can separate itself from the ties that bind it to corporate influences, and stop 'corporate governance', the sooner we will have 'government for the people, by the people.' Now we have 'government for the corporation, by the corporation'. And if the people can't see that, they need to turn off their TV's. Thank you. Sincerely, Sara Kussmaul
