Comments:
1) A consumer incurrs a debt to ABC credit card company; 2) ABC co. then sells the debt to the DEF collection company after the statute of limitations has passed on any action by the ABC co. against the consumer (i.e. ABC and DEF cannot enforce the debt by any law suit); 3) DEF co. then accesses the credit report/history of consumer thereby impacting adversely the credit of the consumer. Is the course of conduct by DEF co. lawful?
