The subject is credit reporting by Experian and other collection agencies - Why is it that a credit inquiry stays on your credit report for 3 years - why does a credit report stay active for 7 years - why does a bankruptcy stay on your report for 10 years???? I would like to see these time limits on the reporting reduced - they are not productive and they hold a person back from moving forward - as an example, why should you have to explain why you were late on a monthly payment to JC Penny 6 1/2 years ago in order to get credit today? Agencies say it is important to know a persons credit history but I say these practices are counter productive and unfair - can you look into these practices and do something about it - - let's reduce these time limits on reporting to something more fair and reasonable -thank you.
