Collection agencies should not be allowed to contact minor children of dead parents. My nephew was contacted via his cell # by a debt collector who informed him it was a very serious phone call, they were calling from the bank (they were NOT--they were a collection agency hired by the mortgage company). My nephew was asked several questions, one of which was the phone number of his father. My nephew informed the caller his father and mother had been divorced for more than 10 years, and that's when my nephew was lead to believe he was responsible for his dead mother's debt. Despicable.
