These proposed changes are disgusting. After my dad died earlier this year, debt collectors constantly harrassed my family with appeals to our "moral obligation" to pay off his credit cards when my mother had just lost half his pension benefits. Debt collectors are already violating federal law repeatedly. The rules should NOT be changed, but strengthened to protect grieving families.
