Submission Text
This proposed rule will lead to an attack on grieving family members, friends, and neighbors and will undermine protections for American consumers. This rule could open the door for collectors to seek money by prodding and misleading grieving relatives and friends into thinking they have obligations that they don’t. As a consumer and a hardworking citizen with student debt, I am opposed to this rule. If I were to die I would hate to think that my family and friends would be saddled with attacks from debt collectors on top of the grief they are already experiencing. Our government is supposed to protect us from this greed. I am opposed to this proposed rule. Thank you.
